METCENAS was established in 2011 as not-for-profit international research and training centre aiming to establish mutual technical cooperation amongst the countries of the Central and Eastern Europe and Balkan (CEEB) region. We carry out research on integrated environment assessment (IEA) and forward looking assessment (FLIS) and deliver bespoke, capacity-building focused trainings primarily to public administrations.

Started by researchers and practitioners and driven by the explicit requirements of the institutional network, Metcenas provides a broad spectrum of practical and advisory services to its members. We focus on continuous and sustainable development and delivery of methods of incorporating IEA and FLIS to day-to-day operations of our partner institutions. By providing a platform for horizontal co-operation Metcenas strives to drive forward the CEEB region’s competitiveness in pan-European context.
