Aim of the project:

The overall Land4Flood project aims to improve the organization of natural flood retention measures using systemic approach, including nature-based, technical, organizational and socioeconomic aspects of flood risk management at private land. This particular research aims include modeling and evaluating the feasibility and effects of natural flood retention measures in two sampling sites, establishing a communication platform for expert evaluation and dissemination of Flood Risk Management (FRM) measures on private land, and field research, stakeholder analysis and dissemination of nature-based FRM options in Nepal. The framing concept of the research aims is to establish a common knowledge base and communication among scientists, land owners and other stakeholders in field.

city– Kathmandu (Bagmati river) - community of the migrants living on Bagmati riverside

 

 

countryside – Tulsipur region (Babai river) - community affected by floods in Fulvari and Motipur, Tulsipur region
