The EcoAdvance Project is the project funded by the Horizon Europe research framework programme, whose objective is to consolidate recent scientific advances on freshwater ecosystem restoration by identifying and showcasing successful solutions across Europe. The project will help answer the central questions:

  • What successes can be duplicated elsewhere?
  • Are there key factors that universally apply to make an innovation or restoration project successful?
  • How can efforts be prioritized to assure that resources are well spent?

The EcoAdvance project is taking a project down approach to selecting successful ecosystem restoration projects, by country and region, identifying drivers and barriers for success in different situations and scenarios. EcoAdvance will bring stories of success to light to support current leaders, scientists and decisionmakers who face some of the same challenges and dilemmas for implementing future projects.

The Kick-off of the project was organized on 12 and 13.September 2022 at L'Ecuela, 1845 Route de la Villaz, Les Onchets, 74430 St Jean D'Aulps, France
